Grand Prix of Europe
Nurburgring, Germany

"77 years of racing
history"
May 7,
2006
The European Grand Prix has been held at a total of four locations
since its inception in 1983, but it is the legendary Nurburgring
circuit in Germany that has been its most frequent and most recent
home.
The track, located around 50 miles (80 km) south-west of Cologne, is
currently celebrating its 75th year. In its longest form it had a lap
distance of over 17.5 miles. In 2002 the circuit was altered yet again,
with an additional complex of three tight corners, known as the Mercedes
Arena (pictured above), added to the existing Castrol-S slightly
increasing the circuit's lap distance. The Nurburgring is nestled in the
Eifel Mountains not far from the Rhein River valley.
Our hotel is the fantastic Castle Hotel Villa Rheinfels (4 Star)
which was constructed on the site of the largest ancient fortification in
Germany, the Rheinfels Castle.
Not just a great Event-a wonderful
